The first lessons show us where a learner is now. From there, teaching is shaped by their understanding, school requirements and next assessment—not an inflexible script.
AN ILLUSTRATIVE ROADMAP
This example assumes roughly one session per week. The School Maths programme has 16 sessions; exam preparation has 24. Holidays, frequency and individual needs change the calendar and focus, not the agreed session entitlement.
Review recent work, identify misconceptions and agree goals and priorities with the family.
Strengthen essential concepts and methods, then practise with feedback on each learner’s thinking.
Work through unfamiliar and exam-style questions to build reasoning, accuracy and independence.
Revisit priority gaps, practise under suitable conditions and agree the next learning steps.
*A 16-session School Maths plan ends at its agreed final session; it does not extend to week 24. This roadmap is illustrative, not a guarantee of identical pacing or complete syllabus coverage.
PARENTS ARE PART OF THE PLAN
After each lesson, a short summary makes the next step clear. A parent report follows every four completed lessons, describing what is improving and what still needs attention.
